The first of July and it went down to 0 degrees centigrade in the north of Scotland so there was a frost over night according to the BBC this morning. What happened to global warming? :)

That's the norm up here. Snow on the hills all year up here. Look for the snowbird on Anoch Mor.

Yup, plenty of snow patches up at the tops and in the cols, even those in bright sunshine. Surprised us!

Still buzzing about our trip.:D

A couple of years ago, somebody managed to ski everyday for the whole year in the Cairngorms.

Ok, a lot of days he was only able to ski 10 yards or so, but he achieved his ambition!

Without global warming it would have been -10

It's more likely to reach -10 WITH global warming!

It's a fantastic place Ral. I would move there tomorrow if our circumstances were different.

I've visited over 150 times now and still can't get enough of it!

Looked at going up before I went to Chamonix, with the intention of testing my new heater, it was closed due to too much snow on the approach roads :lol-049:

They usually sort that out pretty quickly Paul. I've driven up the Cairngorm Mountain road with snow piled up 10 feet either side of the road before now.

Snow also makes a great insulator on your roof as well as I found out at Rothiemurchus!
