On the road to cambelltown as you leave tarbert a few miles up the road on the left hand side follow signs for skipness casltle .
After the small ferry terminal from arran to claonaig there are various spots just off the road on hard packed grass, there are some that can be soft in wet weather but most nice and hard .
Quite close to the road but a very quiet road with great views over to arran and the ruins of skipness castle are a nice walk .
Nice walks round about .
Also the slipway is not maned and can be used for launching a boat in between ferry crossings ( usually an hour )
There is a lovely small seafood cabin open during peak season with picnic benches outside where you can enjoy local caught seafood with amazing views.
The home made orange and choclate cake are the best you could ever have!!
