View Full Version : Scotland August

Hi All,

We are off on our first long wild camping trip the 1st week of August – would really appreciate some wild camping spots anywhere on our chosen route.:)

Couple of things you should know first………..

We are not a MH or CV – we are just a regular Peugeot Expert White Van

Outside space is important to us as we don’t have any living space – so layby’s, carparks etc are out unless we are really WILD!

We have the dog with us so again, the outside space is important (don’t want to have to worry about cars all the time)

Right… we are setting off from Lancashire on the Sunday and travelling through the night and hope to get as far up as possible (Perth area?) and take a couple of hours kip.

Then we plan to travel north on the A93 (Braemar) and then west on the A939 to Speybridge. Then down to Aviemore and onto Fort William, through Glencoe and down to Loch Lomond. Then Sadly home:(:(

Any spots anywhere near this route would be much appreciated, the route is not set in stone so any suggestions also welcome

You cant go wrong with a couple of nights in Glenshee , lots of places to park , by the ski centre , one huge layby ( off road ) on the right about 2 miles past ski centre or over the bridge just down the road from the layby on open land , great for seeing the deer roam free , hope this helps you .

Hi rach82,
On the A939, when you arrive at T junction at Tomintoul, opposite is a Picnic area with pullins for you to park up, enjoy.
When you arrive at Speybridge turn left on the A95, cross over the river bridge, turn left at first roundabout, then immediately left again, down the lane at the side of the river, find a dream parking spot by the river and relax.
On your way back from Fort William is Bridge of Orchy, right over the bridge, find a spot and get in the Hotel, for drinkys.
If you wish to get to Tyndrum, turn up left by Allan "Brodies" shop and go up the lane, near the water tanks, this is the W H Way. We will be in the area on the 6/7th Aug.
Have a great trip.

Happy Camping:)
