Hi Debs,
We are in a similar situation. We got rid of our caravan with the intention of wild camping this year in a converted Ford Transit. We are in Norfolk have two young daughters.
But, to be honest there seems to very little scope for wild camping in East Anglia. We have been out at least twice a week since the holidays started, but invariably end up on a proper camp site.
I'm sure there are some wild spots, but those who know of them tend to keep them to themselves.
We will be out again this weekend but as yet I don't know where we will end up. We just drive and see where the mood takes us.
Last week we tried to get a wild camp near Halesworth, Suffolk and ended up on a site called Holton Orchard, that was pretty good.

we are in felixstowe you can always wild camp over near the landguard point if a litttle noisy due to the neighbours(felix port) or for a slightly quieter over at cliff top car park(this is a pay & display but no trafic wardens after 5ish)or a small layby if you comealong the A14 into felixstowe at the trimley turning go left at the end of the slip road, the road bears left corner there is a turning on the right chapel lane you can park on the left side(It can be a bit tight as there is usually 1 or 2 motorhomes here during the weekend) also you can park in the laybys on the old A14 which is also used as the truckpark when felix port is closed

Hi Debs, we are just on the border of Suffolk and Norfolk, we find the best thing is join the Camping and Caravan Club, :D and go on the Holiday Rallies, all you get is a tap and somewhere to empty your toilet, they are all over the UK and you don't have to book, just turn up. We are off to Sheringham on Thursday till Tuesday and only cost a few pounds a night. Some are in some really nice places, This one is at a school, and you can park where you want, :p So if you want to be Billy no mates you can ;):D....................And if there is not a holiday rally on, we use the CS sites. Bob.:)
