The car park of the miniature railway, brilliant stop over. You are next to the old lighthouse and in front of the power station which glows at night:rolleyes:

No, it's just the light of the power station :p

It's beautiful there, has an atmosphere, no one bothers you and there is a pub 2 minutes walk away. What more do you need? :D

I'm quite familiar with it as I have worked a lot on the Stations.

A Station closed down for generation at the end of 2006, though B station is still going.

Checked this one out today, there is a note on the nature reserve information board which states 'no overnight parking or camping'. It's not clear if this applies to the railway car park which is adjacent to the sign. Didn't feel comfortable parking our 7.7m van there so moved on down to The Pilot Inn who are happy for us to stay overnight.

Stopped overnight at Dungie loads of times over the last two years, the last night being 29th June this year, never had any problems other than being woken by the odd fisherman coming and going. The security and police have past us regularly with nothing other than a cursory glance. We often get a cheery wave or smile from the locals.
As has been already said, the Pilot inn allows overnight stops in their car park, we usually have a meal, I can recommend the Fish and chips or the Romney marsh lamb pie.

Your pics are cool - we are heading there this weekend for the first time. It's going to be a bit of a drive from Somerset but hubby has heard the fishing is good - he'd better catch something!!!:hammer:
