Just thought I should copy this over from the Malvern thread into it's own thread.

"Definitly up for a meet, but can't make half term week as we are off to France, (good old Tesco vouchers & eurotunnel).

The next realy suitable week end for us would be 14/15 Nov and thought Upton on Severn may be worth a look.

Is anyone interested in this or has any better suggestions please let me know."

We will be out and about half term week so funds will be a little short, but having said that its not far from us and somewhere we have not visited yet, do you have any details of prices Geoff?

See Aj's post here:-

http://www.wildcamping.co.uk/forums/worcestershire/5885-upton-severn.html

This gives details.

Just to add this was just a possibility that I thought would allow us to meet up, not too far from a choice of pubs to retreat to for a chat and a beer. If the concensus is to go to a small site instead, I would welcome any ideas and suggestions.

I must admit I have never used a local site either with a tent, caravan or the camper, so don't know anywhere to suggest.

How about here, just 5 mins from Upton Upon Seven and behind its very own pub.

The Anchor is at Welland I think, with a bus stop for Malvern, Worcester and Upton just across the road - pub is very nice, but food a little expensive. We would come !!:)

Looks OK, but the link states "members only" (c&cc). Do you know if the do accept non members and what the overnight charges are.

It's a CS so is restricted to Camping and Caravanning Club members only - and a maximum of 5 vans. Worth asking them if they accept rallies though...

A campsite attached to a pub seems a better bet for a meet than a car park does.

If it's going to be at The Anchor we may well come along...

I agrre but I'm new to this group so will go with the flow,

We have kids so campsites are easy for us, just open the door and kick em out :D

We have already booked into the anchor for the Saturday night, if others want to meet at the carpark thats fine we could go there as well and return to the Anchor later. We won't be offended if others want to stay in town, we are pretty easy going :D

Excellent, we can only make the Saterday because I forgot we were going to see Deep Purple on the Friday night. 2 things showing my age ;) I forgot although the tickets are stuck to a board infront of my PC and its a Deep Purple concert. Mind you at 60+ in age they sound better than ever, either that or my old ears are now so poor it makes em sound good :D

We are looking forwards to meeting you.

No mr Blackmore had another hissy fit some time ago and went his own way again. he was replaced by Steve Morse, who previously played in Kansas amongst others. IMHO he brought a new spark to DP and the new albums with Steve have been the best for years. Look for Rapture of the Deep the last album. You can here some tracks on their myspace Deep Purple on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads (http://www.myspace.com/deeppurple)

We are going to Birmingham NEC next friday to see them, can't wait now I've remembered.

Hi
Were still planning to be at Upton Upon Seven this Saturday.
Anyone else, we'd love to meet some local memebers and put faces to names?

We will have the kids with us but were thinking of a look around town and a couple of pints in a local child friendly pub Sat evening, Any ideas?
Sunday a walk along the river if the weather allows.

I don't know any pubs in Upton Upon Severn, so its probably better if we meet at the carpark. I expect we will be there by about 3pm.

Mind you the forcast at the moment is not looking promising so plans might change.

Trying to find a photo of me, its not easy I'm normally on the other end of the camera

Hi to All who are going to the Anchor this weekend,if it is raining then watch out in the field as it floods very badly.
I used to go there a lot and wrote a review on ukcampsite for them and on one occasion I was there 2 other motorhomes stayed because of my review.I went the next weekend and the campsite was flooded so parked by the campsite entrance and Colin the landlord still charged me the full overnight fee even though I always spend in excess of 40 in the bar on food & drink, real ale very good, food so so and expensive.
The Marlbank just up the road is better and has hardstanding but seems to be always fully booked and The Duke of York about 3 miles away is great with a lovely new landlady (Kirsty) good food and beer at very reasonable prices.
Have a great time those who are going.

We will all be strangers as this will be our first 'meet' as such. Anyone is welcome to join us. The more the merrier :)

I've been told its a lovely village / town. Were hoping to arrive about 3pm. Then a look around the town and a couple of pints. We have 2 small children so we usually go back to the van by 6 to feed them and put them to bed. Then some reading or socialising if there are any other vans about.

Sunday if the rain holds off we were going to take a walk along the river before heading home.

Hope to see you there :D

Upton Unpon Seven is a great place to stop and I will be returning soon, but with the missus this time to prevent you from forcing me to drink whiskey Andy.

If anyone else stays here DO NOT park near the bottle bank it may look like the quietest corner but the locals begin disposing of their bottle at 'stupid o clock' on a Sunday. I heard the first one at about 7am and they were queing buy 9am :(
