We are new to motorhomes having just purchased new Swift Sundance 590 RL on Ducato 2.3 jtd. Have been away one weekend to try out and stayed on CC site. Heading up to Wick shortly and want to break journey around about Inverness either North or South preferably near to A9. As we will be leaving Lanarkshire area around about 5pm. we should be in Inverness area around about 8pm.Either a safe wild camp or a site where we can go on at that time would be great. We are going to stay on CL at Bower so any info. tips etc welcome.
Thanks
John

On A9, about 5 miles before Inverness, you can try Daviot Woods. Loo, Tourist information, water, no height barrier and generally no problems.
If you overshoot, there is no access from the southbound side.
A9 is not too good, several of the old sites near Newtonmore have gained height or no overnight restrictions. Clava Cairns off the Culloden Road B851, signed on the right just past the battlefield site is possible.
Brahan Estate near Maryburgh will charge 5 per night, but chemical toilets can be emtied there and water refilled.
North of Inverness, past Dingwall is pretty barren unless you want to drive off the A9.
Forest Enterprise areas tend to be OK. if no gate is blocked.
