We have used this car park a number of times when on the Wirral. Its just a few 100yrds further on from the junction of the CC site (Wirral Park Country Club) at Thurstaston on the A540.
I have done a Google map link below;

(The link is a satelite picture and the carpark ids right in the centre of the picture. You can change the satelite picture to a map view.)

Its a decent car park but can get busy at the weekends with dog walkers and a Sunday morning running club. The road can get noisy with early morning traffic. The police came on at 03:00am one friday. They just had a look around and then left.
Don't turn left onto Station Rd, carry on and take the car park on the right a few 100yrds further on.

Drove up from Swindon on a Friday evening recently, arrived 2:00am and had a quiet night. Very remote though so did not feel very secure. The car park is bumpy but reasonably level.

This is an excellent spot for Liverpool, and very close to the "SpacePort" attraction beside the ferry terminal which was very good for the kids as it included a brilliant Dr Who exhibition before going on a brief ferry cruise.

Posting this response to include the GPS co-ordinates which might help others to find it in the dark! N53.35259 W3.13408 :)

we stayed here a couple of weeks ago - gorgeous spot but very busy with boy racers and the like until the early hours - noisy and a bit intimidating....i'd give it a miss at weekends in summer

Could we change this location to,preferably Wirral or Merseyside? Thursaston was NEVER in Lancashire. Before 1974 it was part of Cheshire then it was forced into Merseyside,a created county which was then politically dissolved in 1984!!
