There's a campsite at the head of that road too isn't there - is it still open?

Thanks for the tip.

This site (Southsea) was removed from the CCC list last month. Anybody know why?
Have stayed there cheap group rates out of season. Great time over last two New Years. Good clubhouse.

Cracking wildcamp site. Currently here as I type.

The previous night we spent at Portsdown Hill which was full of chavs, doggers and single blokes in cars! About 10 cars drove up to us flashing headlights and beeping the horn- not a good night!

The beach on the other hand is a brilliant site. 4 or 5 other vans here (spread over 1/2 mile) including 2 full timers. Thanks for the heads up.

I stayed this sunday overnight nr here, just down the road by the hayling Island Ferry. Other campers were there that had ben there for a few years and their own generaters.
Monday morning after my 5 weetabix I walked around the area and picked up 2 carrier bags of litter and put it in the council bin. The council cleaner arrived and I told him what I'd done and he was very happy I'd taken care. I asked if the council ever minded about the odd camper there and he said his bosses had commented that they dont mind us there, just tidy up after.

It's possible to get a passenger ferry to the other side, Hayling Island for about 3.50 return and access to some most wonderful beaches and a pub/restuarant complex.

I'll go there again and take my kayak too.
