    Also same for us, we can't vote as not in the UK and could not arrange a proxy or postal vote due to time scale

    Postal vote isn't really much use if you are touring, they are sent (to your chosen address) only about 2 weeks before the election. Which is a bit tight to get them sent on to you in the middle of Europe and then respond. Some councils will accept a scanned completed form by email but not all.

    Proxy is probably a better bet, you can apply upto 8 days before the election (too late for this one)
