I have just read that citizens of Northern Ireland will still have free travel in the e.u.
Does that mean that if I moved to NI I would get it too?

Trev has a house for rent, get in there, quick!

    No.

Anyone born in NI, or has parents born on the island of Ireland, or has Grandparents even (I think) born there can claim an Irish Passport (this is and always has been for purely political reasons from the Irish Government) and thus have EU Freedom of Travel.

Many other countries have similar rules which have backfired on those "lucky" people. (see How a dual citizenship crisis befell an immigrant nation - BBC News)

PS It is all very confusing really. I have a sister who was born in the UK but can claim Irish Citzenship through birthplace; I also have a brother who was born in Germany but CANNOT claim German Citizenship through birthplace; and nor can I despite having a German Mother (but would have been different if I had a German Father)
