Seem to remember lots of talk about a deal . 'Easiest negotiations ever' etc . Unbelievable people would think deals wouldn't have to be struck .

Unbelievable that anyone ever thought there was such a thing as no deal.

Glib retort Mark , doesn't seem to have any actual meaning ? I'm well aware of the existence of a no deal school of thought . Don't know of credible person who thinks it's actually a good idea

Above and beyond no idea, it will probably up to Liz. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Foreign Secretary, and Home Secretary would be high on the list, but considering the current political climate, Liz could well choose Merkel

Are you joking or do you really mean that?

Its all we ever heard in 2016. Farage himself promoted the Norway option. Other phrases like easiest deal in history, nobody is threatening out place in the single market, we hold all the cards and even the one you have just used yourself (unbelievably now) "they need us more than we need them. Nobody was talking about leaving with no deal back then.

So really you cannot say what 17.4 million people voted for no more than I can although the fact that only 12% of the electorate in the recent EU Elections backed the one Brexit party campaigning on a no deal crash out ticket tells us there is no mandate for a no deal Brexit and the fact that remain parties had more votes probably no Brexit at all.

Isn't it the case that by taking no deal off the table we have obliterated our chances of getting a reasonable deal. If I was in a negotiation I certainly wouldn't ruin my hand by being prepared to effectively writing off a big bargaining tool.
