    Annecy via Swizterland

I have just used ViaMichelin website to calculate a route from Calais to Annecy next week using no tolls.
The route takes me through a short section of Switzerland West of Geneva, question is will I need a Vignet or road pass to do this short section or should I drive further South towards Bellegarde with France.
Wondering anyone has done this and would I be better using the toll roads for the whole journey even though the toll costs are high saving 4 hours on the journey.
Any help appreciated, I can't make up my mind and not in great hurry if the weather is nice en-route and I do have 16 days away.

Hi, my advice is use the toll roads, we do it twice a year! toll roads work out about 60odd euros spend more time in annecy.
great place to park / wild camp is near tallores on the north shore, shops and bar in village quiet and great veiws.
we will be down again in november. enjoy A&J

Thanks andyjanet, I thought the tolls would be a lot more for a class 2.
Viamichelin are saying 100 + for a car.
Is the aire you mention part of the wildcamping poi's ?

We drove from Yvoire, on the shores of Lake Geneva, avoided Switzerland by going south, stayed overnight on the aire at Chalon sur Soane, and went west of Paris via Auxerre, Chartres, Dreux to the Aire at Honfleur. No tolls, no drama and a very pleasant drive!

Thanks for the advice, will probably take the tolls and benefit from the weather and rest when I get there whilst I can.

I would go via Belgium, lux to nancy then to annecy all dual carriageway to nancy, no tolls,
Around 40mls more than it would take if if you go from Calais directly through France via tolls.
Did this route many times in the winter.
