    Ok, these are the choices of venue;

    The Anchor Inn Tintern.

    Beautiful location on the River Wye with Tintern Abbey as the backdrop. I had a couple of beers and a meal here tonight and the manager (not landlord) said he'd love to have us for the weekend but we'd have to go in the field (overlooking the river)and park around the perimeter. Food was very tasty though a meagre ration for my appetite! Welcome to The Anchor in Tintern, an historic inn set in extensive grounds dating back to the twelfth century and situated alongside the River Wye with the stunning backdrop of Tintern Abbey - An ideal location for visitors from Monmouth, The Wye Val

    Stonehenge;

    Parked on the byway within sight of the ancient monument. Proper wilding with no amenities except the public loos at the English Heritage car park (open early in the mornings (clench)). The Packhorse at Larkhill is one and a half miles away. A campfire and the possibility of a midnight excursion for entertainment!

    Bulbarrow Hill;

    Near Blandford in Dorset. Two very large parking areas on a very quiet country lane off the beaten track with beautiful views over the whole of North Dorset....especially at sunrise. Lovely walks. Nearest pub is The Fox at Anstey

    Porlock Hill;

    The steepest A road in the UK. Two large parking areas a couple of miles to the west of the hill on beautiful Exmoor. The villages of Porlock and Porlock Wier nearby. Nearest pub is The Culbone about a mile away.

    Ham Hill Country park, South Somerset.

    South Somerset District Council - Ham Hill Country Park

    I have voted for Stonehenge as its the closest to me (110 miles return)

    Although I am willing to meet at any other site apart from Porlock as that's a bit too far (300 miles return) for a weekend

    Twas only a suggestion Scampa, a good one at that, as our nasty northerners meet has become so popular we are now having to consider ways of monitoring it, oh the pleasure of being poplular, (tongue in cheek)

    Popular indeed, we could address the oversubscription by arm wrestling (but I have met Betty from Cleckhuddersfax) not a good idea a scary Doris her tattoes are spelt right ...indeed do a yorkie pudding contest best puds winner decides....a good potential scrap in itself ?

    So come on you suvveners ?? ...wheres the meat I mean meet ???

    toungue in cheek
