No just check the tide times on their website it will clearly tell you when the causeway is open to traffic. I am so sorry that I may not make it but

    Can't have our Jac drowning

I think you said you're arriving on the 16th and it looks as thought the causeway will be open all day on the 16th, so you'll be fine, phew!

Here's the guide to the causeway hours in October, in case anyone else needs it. They do say it's not 100% accurate until the day itself but it's a good estimate.

I'm on my way to Shell Island now and having to drive (around Port Madog) in torrential rain and high winds!!! Well it can only get better cant it.
I have never been to the site before. Any guidelines about where to park and meet up?
Looking forward to the meet despite the rain.

Stay safe with the weather forecast. I seem to remember it was like this last time Phil was there!

Some parts of the island are being battered but we've found a reasonably sheltered spot... still windy but not buffeting us much.. The winds are peaking about now for today and it's really not too bad in our spot. If you're coming, apparently there's a tree down on the A470 and traffic has been diverted around.. one van has got through that, so there are 4 vans here now and another still on the diversion. I'll PM my number if you like, so you can find us when you get here.. let me know. It'll be quieter weather tomorrow after about 8am and quite nice after that apparently. Safe travels and let me know about the number

We just got back from a walk to the marina... could barely stand up!
