I take it your eyes are failing as well.
I was sitting having my first real granddad to grandson conversation with Jimmy.
He asked what was the thing that I really noticed about getting older.
I thought that was a really insightful question for a 6yr old so took my time to give him my best answer.
I didn't see my hair going grey. didn't notice that my trousers had elastic waist bands, my shoes were all slip on's and Teresa May was a hotty.
The one thing that I really have noticed though is my joints are getting stiffer.
"Don't you worry granddad I'll roll them for you"
God bless Colonel Sanders. Marvellous man!
Had a conversation with my grandson about the same age and he asked me if they had cars "when I was alive"! Think he meant when I was young....later mentioned something about things happening when I was young and the angels were people!
Thought grandchildren were meant to make you feel young????
When my eldest grandson was about two, I had occasion to chastise him.
He stamped off along the hall and into his bedroom, ten seconds later, he stormed back along the hall. Shaking his finger at me he said "Are YOU ready to say sorry yet"!
I retorted "No"!
His reply "Don't you want me to come again"?
Him "Well I AM"!
We're still trying to get rid of him 22 years later!!
We moved 18 mths ago to a smaller house, not because it was too much but to financially help my siblings. It is all bungalows where most are dead but won't lie down.
My grandson ,Joe, 9 years old, after some time asked " why are there no children near hear and they are all old,?
I think he is knows more than we know.
What is pink ,wrinkly and hangs out granddad's pyjamas?
