    When I was a lad aged9 or10 on the Island of Jersey I was introduced to him and shook his hand, at that time I had no idea who he was and wondered why he walked a bit funny..

    As a young man he lived briefly in Doncaster at Sprotborough rectory his mothe a friend of the vicar not sure he served locally though

    Nice story. My grandparents had a pub he used to frequent. Apparently all the notoriety went to his head and he was a bit up himself. He must’ve been quite a determined character and they’re not the easiest. mum has his signed autobiography.
