After a brief stop it turned into a mass exodus back to our pub.

On this walk we came across a brown dog that was very nearly killed in front of our eyes. It was running across roads at cars and very nearly met its end. We managed to grab it when it came to look at our dogs and get a lead on it. We asked a few people if they knew it but none seemed to. Then out of the blue a grey estate car pulled up and a guy got out. I think he must have been a farmer who said he was looking for it. It seemed to have escaped from his lock up somewhere. He said it won't escape again coz it will be chained up. The poor thing did not want to go with him but he shoved it in his car and drove off. I feel he has not a lot to look forward to for the rest of his life, but could be wrong.

Yeah, I noticed that Tom, the dog hardly looked excited to be back with it's owner, no tail wagging and no pulling to get to him. I fear you are probably right about the dogs life, it wont be blessed with joy.
    Toe jam really is delicious.

Think you are right Tom a sad ting to an other wise fab weekend. Hoping that he just finds out where he got out and puts something in place so he can't get out again.
All I ever wanted was to pick apart the day and piece it back together my way.

Thanks Tom for not putting pictures up of me been pulled to the ground by the rather light and skinny dog, who was extremely strong, poor thing will be chained up for the rest of his life, I'm wondering if it would have been kinder to let him get run over and end his poor existence, the tell tale signs of him not wanting to get in that car was obvious, poor lad x

Yes Jen, I think you are right. I have a feeling he will also be punished before he gets chained up. The guy didn't seem to pleased with him when he found him, and the dogs reactions was as if he knows what was coming when he gets home. Then again we could be wrong and he could be in good hands, fed and watered and living in a nice warm kennel. Has for pulling you over he might have been skinny but he sure had powerful legs because I nearly went down too. Lets just hope our fears are unfounded and he is one happy hound.
