Farmer Phils a gang of us go 😉
Having just returned from the Giants of Rock weekender at Minehead. £99 for 3 days.
I thought we would head out this year to some music festivals.
I like Rock,Punk, folk, etc
If you hear or get any flyers given to you, it would be nice to put them up here for info please.
( if Phil is ok about it ? ).
I will start the ball rolling with Home - A New Day Festival ( Kent )
The line up looks good and they allow campervans/ motorhomes.
Cost 3 days £89. 5th to 7th August 2016.
Friday night good line up with The Blockheads and Limehouse Lizzy to name but a few.
Last year we did two "Wannasee festivals" hteeteepees://www.wannaseefestival.com/
Great tribute bands all day over 3 days. Cheap about £70 for the three us for the WHOLE weekend plus NO EHU camping field included. safe for kids and a rockin' good time was had by all. Lots of free kids activities if they get bored with Lizzy, AC/DC, GnR, Robbie, Wacko. The stadium opened up the team changing rooms as well for those camping to have showers. With limited facilities/resources they did their best to accommodate 'homes and tenters. A Mobile Bacon buttie turned in the morning too.
Already booked Bishop Auckland this year.
We also went to the Wickerman Festival last year in Dumfries. Reminded me of the early T-in-the-Park gigs at Balado. Much more expensive Good ol' Julian Cope was on top form.
Lastly, our 4th in 2015 was the Sunday CarFest North in Cheshire. Disappointed with The Proclaimers. No audience interaction at all. They just came on, rattled off a few tunes and went off again.
We considered "Download" for 2016 but was going to be £300+ so decided not to bother.
It would be nice to include Pub events also in this thread.
Remember heading back from North Devon and had crossed into Somerset me thinks. At aroundabout we saw a sign hand written saying free camping and thought we would check it out.
The arrows lead to a field and an attendant explained yes we could stay free, all they asked is would we consider crossing the road to the pub as it had a music festival on.
Well what a fantastic evening we had. The music various types was brill. One of the performers was 02 female singer/song writer runner up. She left us spellbound with her performance.
Only 4 other vans stayed in that field that night.
