As QF says, as long as you got MOT and Insurance it takes seconds to tax your vehicle from anywhere in the world. I taxed my car from India last year

Only problem is more people than ever are now driving untaxed as per recent data.

    Tax on annual direct debit

    Hi
You can set up annual direct debit on the gov site then so long as you remember to get an MOT and have insurance it will automatically renew each year without having to rely on logging on from afar, or indeed remembering to.

The system will now let you tax your vehicle without insurance, BUT you do get a fine if your vehicle is taxed without there being valid insurance. It's a strange old world.

I did this for a number of years with Comfort. They email the paperwork for me to print off the certificate.
