    Power Mania

So today I continued my project of "Power Mania".

I took out my banner batteries.
I took out my Truma inverter.
I cut two large holes in the floor of the van. (not through the vans shell, just the raised floor)

I fitted 3 large AGM Lead Carbon batteries
    I fitted a Victron inverter charger (12 / 1600 / 70)
I fitted a Victron 50A MPPT charger (for the trailer solar panels)

    I typed I a lot.

    The wiring needs completing tomorrow.

Here is a photo half way through.

    The batteries are:

NorthStar NSB 210FT Blue+ AGM Thin Plate Lead Carbon Battery

Before you think that I have too much money, I got the batteries cheap, and they have never had a cycle!

    C10 200Ah
    C20 226Ah
    C100 290Ah

I could use 339Ah in a day without going through 50% DoD. Bring on the zombie apocalypse!

The batteries I removed weighed 110kg, these weigh 207kg. So I am going to have to go on a diet.

You do realise though, Phil, that if you break wind in the middle of the night we may never see you again

How many days have you worked out that lot is good for at your average consumption rate ?

& recharge time /draw from engine when on the go ?

    Well.

I would never want to go through 400Ah discharge.

My CTEK B2B with Smartpass can charge at 80 amps. These batteries recharge in a similar way to Lithiums, so about 6 hours of driving would bulk charge them.
The inverter can charge at 70 amps. Again about 7 hours charging from mains.
I have 450watts of solar in total so 450w / 14.4v = about 30 amps max charge (maybe 20 -25 in reality). About 21 hours of perfect sunlight. (or 3 months in Britain)

By Victron power system reports that I use between 70Ah - 105Ah per day. So on a five day meet I could use 525Ah. So in the winter when solar is not so good, I need to bottle up the energy and take it with me.

I have only changed this as I got an amazing deal on all the gear.

Just need a bike with a dynamo. Generate more power and lose weight all at the same time. 😀
