    Pea and Ham Soup

    Not really a soup, more a substantial meal with dumplings.

    Went on the bus and tram yesterday (gratis, thanks to TfGM) to Morrisons in Rochdale, to buy a ham shank. Were 1 a couple of years since, now 2.85.

    However, still well worth it, and here is the result:

    I just pressure cook a gammon joint (around 3.40 a kilo), have boiled gammon one day, cold sliced gammon another and make pea and ham soup from the stock and any left over gammon.

    Gosh I love a hot ham shank test it apart and make a sandwich yummm yummmmm.

    BUT

    My wife makes ham soup
    and I pee in it.
    Does that count ?

    when we kept pigs , and the hams came back , i used to tear a large chunk off and keep it in my pocket in a bag for snacks during the day. lovely !
    talking of grub , i just made 18 meat pies so it's pie for dinner !
    why is being alive so expensive ?

    I`am a connoisseur on P/H I make 7 ltrs at once ,must be ribs, and soak the peas 2 days, then you don't need Bicarb
