Today for the first time in just over 3 years we have just emptied everything out of the motorhome into the dining room in the house, now there is no room to move in the dining room, I just cannot believe how much stuff we have been carrying around with us.

The frightening thing when we did similar, was how much of it we never used

now would be a good time to weigh the van, then weigh what you want to return to the van so that you know you will be within payload....

Yes, i take everything out once a year to sort through then reload and straighten everything up and see if anything needs getting rid of

I always pick a good dry day and use the large patio so i can spread the items out which is next to the motorhome

If the weather gods allow i do this on MOT day so the motorhome get tested as light as possible otherwise i just drop the water and empty the rear garage.

Re the problem with the dining room .................................................. ......... move house and get one with a bigger dining room

I did this at beginning of year, amazing amount of cr*p taken out, and a load of my clothes, which won't fit in my wardrobe at home. No before you say it, I won't get rid. Only thing this year, when hubby wants anything when out in van, I've kept saying 'I've taken that out', serves him right for moaning I carry everything - including the kitchen sink lol.

It is a good idea to do this, only put back what you have used in the last year. It can save a hell of a lot of space.
