Whitby Scarnough andFiley all under the remit of the same council .York itself you can lose yourselves for days, considering your wife on a motab scooter York lends itself quite well lots of Museums the Minster, Shambles Bishopthorpe and cruises on the Ouse the obvious tourist attractions , Railway museum worth a visit and free entranc
Harrogate is worth a visit an old spa town a is Knaresboough a decent day out, If the coast is your thing Runswick Staithes and Robinhoods bay are picturesque but you may find access difficult with a motab scooter not dis similar to Clovelly in Devon ,,,,en route there is Eden camp (A64) that is ex Italian POW and tells the tale of life in those days or the picture postcard village of Thornton le dale and a fraction beyond the forest drive through Dalby eventually arriving via Hackness the North end of Scarborough CLoughton worth a visit for the view

A little further north, up the coast. Is Runswick Bay.. Super pub, for lunch.
Staithes is reasonably accessible and has pleasant watering holes.Robin Hoods Bay is ok, too.
Isnt access to all those a bit steep though? Its a while since ive been to any of them but I remember them being steep and a hike down to the village. I think Runswicks car park is at the bottom (ish)

Both have dry steep hills and difficulty in walking was mentioned.

In agreement there. The big places get far too much publicity & people either forget or don't know about the smaller less talked about areas. Can't beat "The road less travelled" sometimes. Good times can be had exploring new places & many gems have been found over the years, sometimes in the most unlikely places....

If you fancy Whitby park in park & ride and get bus in if you take scooter on the bus (or you could go on bus and wife ride in on scooter, about 1 1/4 miles.

Anywhere for a day out that would keep us occupied till they come home. Don't need to stopover as we can park outside their house overnight, just looking for days out.

Whitby. Drive past coop towards marina back car park - over roundabout and on right. Enter and aim towards back right corner. There are 4 spaces with big overhangs.

    Apologies.
I thought the mobility scooter might be battery powered?
Check out available Blue Badge parking, if you have one.. There's bound to be something accessible organised.
