    Loch Awe pike fishing

    Hi All
    I am considering visiting Loch Awe in early May to do a spot of Pike fishing.
    Are there any anglers on here can give me a few tips i.e areas to fish wild camp sites ect

    Go to the boat yard and hire a boat. Itís a big loch and and you can cover a lot more water in a boat and the boat yard will let you overnight if you hire.

    Nah, catch 'em, kill 'em and eat 'em. Donkey's years ago I was in a fishing club that actively encouraged us to spin for pike in order to try and clear them out of the clubs water. Carp makes good eating too. We are lucky living where we do because our local streams carry some magnificent brown trout down off the moors, and just behind our local tip is where two of them come together to create the river Etherow (which eventually becomes the Mersey when it meets the Goyt down in Stockport), and they rise to just about every bait, from cheese through luncheon meat to flies, some great river crabs too

    Got to agree Peter, Pike are excellent eating, one of the tastiest fish around imo.
    Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false and by rulers as useful.
