    Hi

We are heading down to Wales and maybe a bit over the border into England for a week to ten days. Never been before.
We like to stop in town to overnight. We are a wee 5m campervan.
Like to have a pub nearby for the evening and to wander around during the day, nothing special, just enjoying somewhere different. Local markets, small museums, charity shops and good local food etc.
Probably need a campsite at least once for a shower and a bit of laundry.
    So, where do you recommend?

    Thanks

I can recommend Caernarfon, very close to town for the pubs cafes shops and castle, with an excellent view across the Menai Straights, But just had a quick look and the wild camp has been removed from the site, if we've lost this one it would be a shame.

So I'll recommend Fairbourne, Stop on the pennisular have a walk along the beach back to fairbourne, catch the miniture train back and then pay the ferry man to take you over to Barmouth for your tea and a few beers, don't forget to ask the ferryman what the time of the last boat back is or it's a long walk.

I will also recommend Shell Island as a campsite to refresh your tanks, (no EHU) pub shop and cafe on the island.

Little Roodee car-park, Chester, CH1 1SL. There's an overnight parking charge but a great location by the river and just a short walk into town.

Hay on Wye, nice car park with a two night stay allowed, close to the centre. Browse the bookshops and and buy something to read while you enjoy your pint.

PH Llangynidr (Coach & Horses) (Powys)

It's on the POI map. You need to phone & ask if you want to stay in the pub car park & you must eat there. The food is excellent, try the posh fish & chips.
Loveley pub, dog friendy with great food. It is right on the Brecon & Monmouthshire Canal & minutes away from the river Usk. Nice walk along the canal & through the lanes to the Redlion at the other end of Llangynidr, then walk back along Castle Road which is a narrow lane.
Lots more wildcamping spots near Talybont on Usk too.

You can stop overnight for one night in seven in any Powys Council car park which includes Hay on Wye and Brecon as mentioned.
