    Sounds perfectly normal to me

    I have a Sterling Pro Power Q 350w Inverter Sterling Power - Pro Power Q 12v, 350w Inverter [PN: I12350]

The fan on it only comes on once the load increases and or when the temperature rises, starts off slowly and increases if needed.

If just running / charging the laptop or running the TV and satellite then it doesn`t come on.

Most likely the inverter fan is under thermostatic control, it only runs when it gets to a certain temperature that is only when actually needed. A good idea because a constantly running fan can be an irritant and uses a bit of power.

Fan will not run until inverter comes under load. As this is a fairly small inverter a fairly light load run for a short time should heat it up and start the fan or the alarm.
