Has anybody fitted deadlocks to a Fiat Ducato coach build. We are looking to do this on a 13 plate ? Any experience or encountered any problems ?

We have them fitted to the cab doors. Easy to fit and operate, Ours is older but I wouldn't have thought the doors would have been changed a lot. No way can the doors be opened with them on.

I had locks from the following fitted professionally to my 'van:

Locks 4 Vans supply Van Locks, Van Security Locks, Van Door Lock and Van Deadlocks in the UK

Not a job for the amateur since it involves cutting holes in both the door and B-post.

Mine were fitted by Rhino Installs in Preston.

I thought that deadlocks were standard from the manufacturers now, am I wrong or is this something else? When you press the lock button first time it locks, doesn't the second press deadlock and set alarm?

Vans are still new to me but thats the way it has worked on lots of cars I have had since mid 90's hence my query here.

Do you mean those add on locks that you screw to the door then turn the know to lock to the door frame? If so we have a pair of those, I have removed mine as always trying to get in when Caz has it locked but she has one on passenger side.

Can anyone answer if vans have factory fitted deadlocks built in like cars do though?

Afaik vans destined for the MH market don't have deadlocks.
P.s. That aplies to continental built vans

Correct. Sevel vans built for and factory delivered to the UK have factory deadlocks as standard. Vans built for the European market don't. Buy a van from a UK converter who ordered and took delivery through a UK dealer, it should have them, but if it's from a foreign converter even if intended for the UK market it won't.

Incidentally, the factory deadlocks can only be set with the remote fob, unlike a lot of vehicles where they can also be set with the key in the door lock.
Thanks Trotter thanked for this post
