One of our old apprentices, the best one we ever had, who has been in business for many years is now expanding into bigger premises and is happy to re-map, service and repair any campervan. He is located near Ilkeston. Derbys.

He is a proper bloke who is on the ball, you won't get any of this newspapers.coffee and sky sports to watch stuff, but you will get a good job at a good price.

Thanks for that. I've been travelling all the way to Leicester for the last few years, the guy there ran a fleet of Ducatos and was very good but has just closed.

Our local garages are poor, but Ilkeston only about 10 miles away for me, so thanks.

Sorry can't answer your question ,but personally I don't think it would. Be good idea to to increase the power of an older vehicle it could increase ware and stress on many components including the engine, clutch, gearbox ,brake's , etc .?.

Remapping/chipping does not put extra load on other components unless you use the extra performance. The vast majority of the time, engines are just bumbling along at less than 20% of their max power.
I have added a turbo to one motorhome, vastly increasing its power output and had no problems over more than a decade of driving it. The person I sold it to is still running it with no problems another nine years later. And the turbo increased power by 28%, torque by about 40% so it was a big difference.
Chipping/remapping will do almost as much if you are lucky. But driven sensibly, the van will cope.
