I certainly would have gone to my local garage, if it wasn't for the fact that the van is still under warranty.

Premature failure isormally caused by people resting their foot on the clutch pedal when driving: a very bad habit, but it will have been a previous owner who did the damage, and there's no way to tell.
Even though there is no noise when the engine is ticking over in neutral and the clutch pedal released, could it still be the release bearing?

    Serious question

What advantage does a dual mass flywheel give, apart from profit to the motor industry..

It is ment to be smoother and helps dipsticks who have not got to grips with the advent of the motorised veh.
Fact is it gives poor drivers more trouble in the long run but makes garages lots of money.

Thank you for all the suggestions.

I have booked in the van with the Citroen dealer for Thursday 21st.

Just hope we can get a quick diagnosis and that any work needed, can be done under warranty.
