    Security question

    Hi

I would welcome any advice regarding security with a T6 conversion.
I have been going up to the west coast highlands of Scotland for years, & parking my car up in out of the way places, and doing long cycle rides, & never had a problem with the car.
But I think a campervan is a bit more expensive than my car.
What sort of security do you guys n gals use?
    Kind regards

I have a steering lock fitted as a visible deterrent and deadlocks on the cab doors. I don't know if they are available for your van, but I have seen merc vans with special security locks. Probably the best thing would be to have a hidden switch fitted that disconnects the fuel supply to the engine,

Been doing this for many years and never had an issue. Just be sensible and donít leave anything of any value visible and trust your instincts.

    Chausson 510 welcome
There are trackers available online for a one of cost.
Mine uses a SIM card and contacts me to tell me the battery is running low.
A charge normally lasts about three months. It cost around £150.

A class one thatcham alarm can be bought for around £100, they ar3 simple to install.

As has been mentioned by others use your common sense and you should be ok.
If we all agreed there would be no discussion, and it would be a dull boring world.

We had a small safe fitted. We put anything it would be annoying to lose in there as an added level of security- spare house keys, passports if not with us, spare credit card, maybe a camera and so on.

More about our possessions than the vehicle.

With plastic windows there’s only so much you can do!

If he is parked and leaves the van no wheel can not be fixed back on the lock part is in two parts, the locking part goes in his pocket and the other part stays on, making it impossible to put a another wheel on.
