The ones that are cheap on eBay appear not to include the battery, which has to be purchased separately and soldered in. Is this normal?

    Any half-decent one will do

    I have limited solar/battery.
Charge all 3 the unit phone and tablet in the day.
Then in the evening use the charger to fully charge the phone maybe overnight so phone is always well topped up.
So not depleting my LB in the evening...I paid 10euros for mine in ans Aldi or Lidl in Austria

Ps I also have a usb/rechargeable led light which is handy

I bought one a couple of weeks ago, 11 on ebay, 'cos a friend recommended it for recharging my phone if I use it a lot in a day.

No experience yet though so can't comment! However, it is good that it can be charged up from mains or leisure battery as well as the sun so handy in winter as well.

We bought one from Ebay but it seems not to charge from solar power. I reported this to the vendor and this is the reply:

    Dear guest,
Hello, I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to you, please let us explain the solar charging function of our charging treasure. The conversion rate of the solar energy converted into electric energy of the charging treasure is very low. Generally speaking, the solar energy is directly stored in the battery of the charging treasure, instead of being directly converted into electric energy and used. Wed like to tell you that not only our products are like this, but the majority of solar products are such a working principle, therefore, we sincerely recommend that you directly use the USB charging method to charge the charging treasure, so that the charging treasure can work better for you. Thank you very much for your support and understanding of our work. Thank you.

So a solar power bank is actually only powered up from the USB side. so in effect its not solar at all? Bit odd I think??

All mine do charge from the sun but very slow,i mainly charge from a usb port in home or when out driving so kids have extra power to keep tablets working and give my head some peace.

Also, according to the instructions that came with mine, they won't charge from flat by solar - it's just for keeping the battery topped up.
