You are annoying us happily retired folk with your silly talk. Especially we hardworking, productive types who retired early and never looked back.
And I thought you where still working as a diplomat.

there are so many things you can not do today but put off till tomorrow . how can you have time to work?
soon you will be able to think about all the things you thought you might want to do . but not do them .
far better to team up with some last of summer wine lads and enjoy life .
If it was that simple Alan. Think of the major projects my wife and family could set me on. New kitchen, Laminate flooring throughout the downstairs, Ah, but I can't start that because of the extended disruption because I will have to keep stopping to go to work. Plus the fact it is a bit cold to get out in the van in January in frosty Cambridgeshire.

I have mentioned this on another thread but may well be worth saying again. According to insurance stats. If I retire at 65, I can expect to live until to live until I am 66. If I retire at 60, I may well reach 80. Cost the pension fund a few quid

To many folks it is a time to face an empty life full of boredom, for others its a time passionately filled with the things we never had time for when in full time work... Each of us has to sort out our own way of dealing with the final 30 years of our lives......
In the last 40 years I have have been covered in various sorts of Pee , Puss and Poo by all sorts of members of society. I (as a member of the health service} have been accused on here as being idol, corrupt and incompetent by people that have never met me on this site so I am doing this purely for the money and my own satisfaction. I will be working within a small team on very Ill patients in a small unit. Just what I enjoy.

What are you planning to do between leaving work and sitting in bed in the nursing home, dribbling and waiting for nurse to charge your nappy.

Doing everything I can health/exercise wise to stay fit and healthy so I DON'T end up in a nursing home with nappies.....!! apart from that, just grabbing life by the throat and writing, vanning, meeting friends, studying, cycling, reading, painting, theatre.... the list is endless...
