Been on the M1 motorway a few times last week, not out of choice may I add and it was a complete nightmare every time. Stop, start most of the time due to lengthy roadworks. Last Thursday I joined the M1 from the M25 at 10am and eventually arrived in Chesterfield at 3pm. Left Chesterfield Sunday 4pm arrived at the M25 7.30pm. I would advise to avoid the M1 if you can as there can be other options which will suit you.

I spend 99% of my working week travelling between Manchester and Jaguar landrover in the Midlands.....
Neither the M1 or the M6 are anything less than a nightmare sadly

I drove up to Northampton on Friday. I got through the A43 before they closed it for Silverstone, but had to come back down the M1 and M25. The average speed over the whole drive was 36mph. Considering the whole journey was motorway and dual carriageway it wasn't good.

To many lads out in their motorhomes clogging the roads up, the hobby is growing in popularity so fast.

I think they should let bicycles on as well, just to add to the fun.

Too right, the M1 around Nottingham on a friday afternoon into evening is a total nightmare and should be avoided if possible.
