No. But maybe a just bit cynical about how people behave.

Could a money-back scheme clean up the UK's plastic bottle plague? | Environment | The Guardian
It's a good idea and every little helps as they say, but I'm in the cynical camp.

The UK will be like the donkey's tail when it comes to installing that kind of recycle machine here.
We're not even dealing properly with the official recycle stuff that already goes to our local tip.
Half the stuff we recycle ends up going to landfill anyway cos they can't deal with it.

We are awash with rubbish and when something hits the mainstream news, e.g. like the plastics problem did earlier this year, you know that the situation is WAY beyond rescue

The ice cream idea is good to 'bribe' people into doing something and it's a start.
I just hope those guys can afford to keep giving away free ice creams!

Anyways, less of me being the misery guts. When all else fails it's always good to grab a free ice cream on a hot day!

Earlier in the year we picked up 36 bin bags of plastic and general litter along the route into our valley.
Best done in the early spring before the growth.

Wonder if they'll be able to train the enzyme to also eat the toe rags who drop litter in the first place?
Now that would be a result!

Yes! now that an idea with wheels!

Trouble is if we segregated members of society whom actions we disagree with, that leads to very dark paths, which we need not tread!
