Try the plastic things called Flossers. About 70p for a big packet from Lidl, or about 2.50 from Boots.

They are basically a short bit of floss on a plastic handle.

Surprisingly, they seem much better for people who have small gaps between their teeth.

Interdental brushes are easy to use and won't get stuck

Second that, my dentist told me to forget flossing and use interdentals stimulating the gumline ,,,

Very embarrassed to say I came out of the dentist this morning clutching a 25 ultrasonic toothbrush

I must now eat my words regarding my previous comments on 'gadgets'!

Oh, and by the way - I asked my dentist if there was any difference between the 25 ones and the 300 ones.

He said NO absolutely not, they all do exactly the same job, just the expensive ones have more daft buttons

Paying a little more gets you a brush that lets you know when 30 seconds have passed as well as when 2 minutes have passed. That's a bit useful.

Paying a little more again gets you one with a red light that switches on if you press too hard. Not sure that's very valuable.

Buying an Oral-B made in the last year or so gets you one with a Li-Ion battery instead of NiCd - and that is definitely worth having!

    Mine's the latter, hairydog

It's on charge at the minute. Timer alerts every 30 secs, brush stops after 2 mins.

Never you mind, just have a floss between your teeth as well.

These people who don't floss are walking around with a food bucket, compost bin between their teeth.

Having just been to the dentist and congratulated on how clean my teeth and gums were, I have never flossed in my life! Proves your statement incorrect.
Some people need to floss, others don't....
