I'm taking liberties now Trev but that was the eara of what do you call a skip with wheels, you know, it's a predudice joke, moggies aren't in the same league as the early skodas but there more about being English if that makes sense.

I had a couple of Morris Travellers & my parents still have a couple of them.

If i remember correctly, the polarity is the opposite from what we are used to now
    .
One other benefit is an electric fuel pump - handy at times !

If it tickles your fancy Andy, and you can afford it, then go for it, great looking car, and like you say it will give you something to do, you could also show it at various rallies as well, so that's an added bonus. As for the welding, it's something else you could learn, and then do the basic stuff yourself, and if you need a good/reasonable priced guy to do the harder stuff then pop on to see another Andy at Clarkson St, Ravy, him and Paul restore old cars and always have sommat on the go, might be worth popping in and having a chat with them before buying, tell them you know Richard (flyer). Sue Yorkslass can vouch for them too now. If I spot it about town, I'll know it's you.

Also keep the area above the brake master cylinder cover clean: otherwise grit from your feet will get into the works.
The insurance quote sounds high to me. Specialist classic car insurers can often be cheap.
There was one corner in Dover right outside the GPO sorting office that had a left turn and a bump in the exact place to remove the front offside trunnion as nice as you like,, loads did it there, the suspension compressed and it just popped out,, GPO and telephone vans were all minors.
