    Is there any sort of water bosh at the back of the blow hole.

    No water jacket, unfortunately. I think it's kept simple for transportation reasons.
    I do have a water-cooled forge nozzle and fan from the old forge at Chatsworth. I intended to build a brick forge but one gets a finite number of projects that you can fit into a lifetime.

    I think Fazerloz means a water container to plunge hot metal into for cooling purposes.

    Many people might not be familiar with the term 'bosh'.

    Was boshing this morning Jim, making chisels from hex bar, yea cannae whack a damn good BOSH

    I prefer two separate boshes next to the anvil one with water and one with oil.

    Having a bosh behind the forge? Not sure that would work for me very well?

    PS BOSH refers to the sound the rapidly cooling metal makes.

    No Polar bear was exactly on the mark, for cooling the air nozzle. A bosh is only a water container. The first 2 years of my apprenticeship was spent with the pit blacksmith.

    Shoeing forge for a farrier. Not a blacksmith as it was too small for general smithing. Leather bellows in the days before rubber.
