Yep we have been having the same conversation in our house about what a load of crap the new series is and after years of being a fan we are so disappointed in it.

The Doctor used to be very good but started going downhill several years back and has now fallen off the edge

I haven't watched it since Peter Capaldi as didn't like him at all in the role.

The best ever episode was the Stone Weeping Angels. That really did get the heart racing.

It's in no way as good as it used to be. But they have got new writers apparently. I think Jodie Whittaker is trying to make good out of bad. It's time for a rethink on the story lines and then she can get her teeth into it and show us what's she's made of.. It not her fault. On saying this even David Tennant would of struggled making good with these useless story lines... Sack the writers and get someone with a good imagination. It started going wrong after Matt Smith IMO...

I may be alone in actually enjoying the current series with its simpler plots having accepted that we are where we are in this PC world.

However I do miss the days when we had shorter six part episodes featuring the Daleks with jeopardy at the end of each episode. Maybe the script writers and the BBC could return to this format?

Yep you're alone lol.... But as you say the six part episodes were much better. They need to go back to it.
Heard rumors that she's leaving already but don't know if it's true.

I don't really like it as its too lightweight. That said, the viewing figures are supposedly higher than ever so maybe they have been clever in appealing to a different audience? Some of the plots in recent times have been complex and very deep so may have alienated some.

    Has it changed?

Is Jon Pertwee still in it?
