I was given 4 for passing my 11 plus, I'm now 70 and not a bloody farthing, the certificates are probably worth more for their rarity value which is a win I suppose.

I have a few hundred pounds worth, acquired over the years. For about 5 years running in the 2000s I won 25 or 50 just before Christmas, very handy, but then it stopped.

Still, I can always get the money back - albeit not worth what it was - whenever I want to, and you never know, the big win could come at any time.

I seem to recall that when the Lottery first came out, the financial wizards said putting the money into Premium Bonds would be more beneficial.

It's a bit like the premium bonds, we hope to get another win or another birthday.

I appreciate that the chances of them winning a big prize are pretty much non existent, but the odd win of 25 would make their day.

Any comments, or should I just stick with cash?

    Thanks
I think it's a great idea, I have the maximum allowed under my name, wife also has max and on average we win 50 usually every other month.
And it's safe money with no risk.

They call it Fools gold because there is no such thing as Guilible Gold.

out of interest, and this applies to all these folk who have them as children and never won - does "ERNIE" know how to contact you? updated addresses in that 19 years? checked the records with your bond numbers to confirm non had won?
