Leon my daft lad picked him up from a rescue in France and still my connection still works to French commands better and was used originally for ducks, He is a German Short haired pointer and even in his twighlight years can cover a lot of groujnd very quickly

Unfortunately it's my understanding that's what the situation is like in Spain & Portugal for dogs & cats and probably other animals.

Seems to be a 'cultural thing' in those 2 countries (and probably many others).

It is heartbreaking and inhumane.

{sigh}

The sooner homo sapiens f*cks up and wipes out a large percentage (or all of) its own species the better, imho.
Really hope I live long enough to witness it (out of curiosity)

The same is true of working dogs in France evidence my Leon has been abused (thank their lucky stars I don't get my hands on them) a chap I was talking too at a gun club in Doncaster who trains gun dogs told me they break the dog and basically build it up again, Conversly my eldest worked in the Prison dog service at HMP LIndholmw what was a training facility if the handlers so much as raise their hand at the dog ....they are booted off the course and no second chances

I am not religious as such but do believe nature as all the answers, She is also amazingly resolute when dealing with irritants ,Man kind is an irritant and she will deal with us via flood famine temperature changes just to get shut..survival is working with nature not against it ,we shall pay the price
