The Algarve branch of your fan club.. The Hon President and even Honner Secretary, have had a special meeting.
A special motion was passed, unanimously.. To wish you a speedy recovery.

    Whingeing vanished in 24 hours!

2 hour 10 minute lymph node operation under arm started at 11am this morning.

Came back home nearly 2 hours ago. Fighting fit, full mobility in arm, no pain, no soreness, no stiffness - yet!
Drain tube in place as last time, but feel an old hand dealing with that now it's my second time round, and as soon as drain levels down to right measure for removal I just drop back into hospital to have it all removed - and that's any time at all during the day, even though it is Easter Bank Holiday.

I wangled a free hospital dinner this time when transferred to ward from theatre - hot cheese & onion quiche (nice thin & crispy pastry), a lovely very crispy fresh lettuce salad with with tomato & red pepper on the side, big chunk of commercial-style chocolate cake (hey, who am I to complain?!) and a reasonably good tasting cup of tea

I was absolutely starving, so not a single crumb left after demolishing the lot

I have to say this surgeon treating me is an absolute bl**dy genius and I feel so lucky to have him doing these ops for me.
Found out today he has been practicing since 1990, so definitely a man with lots of experience!

Told me he has been very careful to avoid all nerves (he will have avoided them all too, I absolutely guarantee!). Back to see him 2 weeks time then it will be on to the oncologist and next stages of treatment. The consultant oncologist is a woman at the Freeman, also with excellent reputation, so we shall see how that goes. Also chemo is not the long journey across town I was expecting, but at a local outreach hospital that has been doing it for donkey's years, closer to home just up the road from me out in the sticks.

Feeling a million miles from the black pit I've been in the last few day - apologies for my wimpy whining & whingeing!

Stomach-churning, pant-spoiling, head bashing, rollercoaster of a train journey this 'ol cancer cr*polata is.

Nil desperandum carborundum illegitami, once more unto the breach and all those other ancient worn out cliches every one!

I hope the pain killers don't wear off too soon and that you have some more tablets that you can take.

I thought you would be in hospital all over easter !

So glad it went well! Being home makes it so much easier...sounds like the food in hospital was better than Dave's cold chicken soup!
Hope you have a very straightforward recovery. On to next challenge! X

sounds like you've had a moaniectomy and it seems successful !
my bloke was good on the knife
and needle, but he must have chopped through a few nerves , i now have numb spots all over from ankles up . not that i care - still breathing and playing with the grandson the day.
anywoo, well done and try not to trip on your drainpipe- having bits removed is a bit of a serious diet , but i weigh less every time !
    too blessed to be stressed
