Only those of us that are 'owned' by rescue dogs will understand THIS...

So many dogs need loving homes/sofas/beds out there...
I'd NEVER consider a pedigree, when I can offer space for a woofler that is in need.

You would be surprised at the number of Pedigree dogs there are abandoned or in rescue centres.

People spend a small fortune to buy a Pup then don't want them.

Leon my hound is a rescue I picked up on my travels in France after having my GSD put to sleep

He is 100 % German short haired Pointer, shows a healthy interest in Ducks but seems to be trained shows restraint. the rescue centre seem to think he had done a runner on a hunt, witnessing how he will take himself for a walk I am inclined to agree

Much better to keep the dog and get rid of the kids instead...

Our jack had been with gypsies then in RSPCA kennels for six months didnít know what a ball was, still wonít play with one, but give her a bit of the strap from a builders bag or a sock and watch her run, itís a pain when your trying to get your socks on in the morning.

When she first adopted us we bought her squeaky toys, rope toys, kongs that you fill with treats, balls that you fill with treats, everything a pet shop had we tried to play with her,
After about a year of trying nothing worked!
I used to make the sets for a local amateur drama group and needed the straps from a builders bag to makes some door hinges so climbed in the skip where we worked cut off the straps, climbed out and couldnít find the straps, Jessie had picked them up and was doing a sort of throw them around and chase me thing so I grabbed one end and thatís how we found out she likes builders bags straps and old socks, ps she doesnít chew the straps so donít worry about ingesting the nylon fibres

Sparky was a stray JRT. Spent a fortnight in the pound, not chipped, not claimed, no enquiries, I went through 6 weeks of posts on Dog Lost in case he'd been stolen.

He won't chase a ball, play with a squeaky toy, play with a fluffy toy, chase a stick or anything.
However, he pinches rawlplugs, bits of plaster or mortar, electrical wire offcuts, firewood etc. basically anything he's not supposed to have.
I bought him a rubber ring & wrote "Not Sparky's" on it but still no joy.

Last week I dog sat a friends elderly collie/lab cross. All of a sudden the ball was his, as was the rubber ring, fluffy toy & squeaky toy! He didn't play with them but no-one else was having them.
