Best of Luck with this
Well a stressful day , I had to visit St James this morning for a pre op assessment, I set off plenty of time 9 for a 10.30 appointment and Leeds threw its worst ,not helped by bustery wind I think every vehicle in Leeds was on the road and I took every short cut I knew and arrived at 10,20 thankfully clinic running late
I was greeted by a nurse who looks after me at weekends so that made things easier , a few checks double checks on medication sent me for an ECG and wheeled in to see a very attractive young female doctor "call me Sam " she said .anyway re assured me I was making the right decision and explained the anaestheic will be a nerve block . Had one before and cant feel a thing
So all booked in on the 25th strict instructions re fasting and having a fistula fitted, which takes 6-8 weeks to grow and then the remove lines from my Chest
Back on Ward tomorrow so doing bloods then and screening for Mrsa and something else that escapes me probably rabies
Seeing my consultant at some point, they certainly don't mess about.

Y'know Andy, so many folks knock our health service, and yes it does have its failings, but it's still the best in the world, both you and I are still drawing breath thanks to the NHS. Mind you there are probably some here who think that's a failing Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time my friend. Had what I hope, my final blood testing session yesterday.
Potential complications with my little procedure so at the mercy of God and the skill of the surgeon.
chap on our ward same age as myself lovely bloke too, fingers and tows missing due to diabetes and kidney failure and for good measure blind too now in a wheelchair I don't think I have it that tough really everywhere you look some poor soul worse off
Best wishes Andrew, hope it goes smoothly.
Hope it all goes well, Andrew! It will be so much easier once the chest lines are out. At least that is usually the case. Good luck.
