Paid a half dozen visits to our local Homebase store which is closing down and to be replaced by B&M which holds the lease. As we are renovating we were in the market for hardware, decorating supplies, lighting, building supplies and various tools. I wouldn't normally visit any DIY store like Homebase, B&Q etc but was tempted by the 40% off offer, then further tempted by 50% off and then 80% off and until the final day yesterday - 90% off. Some items had just a nominal charge to clear.
In total we spent £289.86p but saved £746.71. Bargain of the day was 4.5 sq mtr of marble floor tiles for £3.
Homebase are closing all the following stores.
Here is a full list of the stores affected:
Aberdeen Bridge of Don
Bedford St Johns
Cardiff Newport Road
Croydon Purley Way
Dublin Naas Road
London New Southgate
Oxford Botley Road
Poole Tower Park
Southampton Hedge End
Swindon Drakes Way
The closer to closure the higher percentage off but stock gets very much reduced.
Got gallons of ronseal fence paint and lots of big planters when our local Homebase closed and saved a fortune. Even bought two fake Christmas trees because they were that cheap.
Droitwich & Swansea already closed down.

Any chance of you picking up a cheap set of safety rails for your manhole, before we get back.?
When we converted the hovel, 13 years ago,
The Portuguese builder took us to choose bathroom tiles. Next door was a Lidl.
We popped in for some fresh milk and nd noticed they had a special promotion on bathroom fittings. We dragged him inside and bought the whole range of fittings.
Good quality German stuff, in those days. Exactly what we wanted, at silly money. And it's still looking good.
He wasn't too chuffed, he'd lost out on his mark up.
