We have stayed at Overwater Marina Touring Site at Audlem (just north west of Stafford on the Shropshire Union Canal) several times, mainly because we love canals, but also handy for Travelworld where we bought our van. I reckon itís about 4 hours from Newhaven and very handy for the M6.
Hope you enjoyed your holiday. Safe travels
    Tony

We stopped at Penketh, just north of Stafford. Large council owned CP, by a pub, very quiet. Would use again.

    Hope that helps.

You can stop in Stafford itself but Lichfield is a much nicer place . I usually park in the main carpark in the town centre

Stop at the Bhurtpore Inn Bhurtpore Inn for free near Wrenbury, it's 50 yards from our house. Water and breakfast served at ours for free, you can even dump your waste at our specially booby-trapped inspection chamber ask pauljenny about that one!]

Look for our Bessacarr on the driveway on the opposite side of the road from the pub if you are up for it.
