In Kent we have 'THE ROAD SQUAD' who are supposed to repair potholes, however they are clueless as to how to do it properly.. They come along shovel out a load of tarmac fill the hole and pat it down, sometimes they get the roller off the trailer and use it on the tarmac, but normally back the rear tyres over it. a week later or less if it rain ALL the stuf is out and hole is bigger than before. Thes blokes seem to have no supervisor, they just do it as the feel fit.. no cutting an undercut square filling it with base and then top coat and sealing the edges with bitumen. No top coat straight in, and sod all else, what a waste of time and materials but they get their bonus no doubt for the number they do. there are dodgy-drive toppings put on by you know who, that are better.

Same here in Kirklees and they only fill the ones which have been marked by two men in shirts and ties a month earlier if there is another next to one they are filling that hasnít been marked hen they donít do it, until a man in shirt and tie has been out again and marked it up for them,
I donít see why they cannot just send two men out with a wagon full of tarmac to fill any pot holes they can see

They used to send them over here to practice, but as soon as they got the hang of it and could do the job properly they sent them back home.
As the last thing Kirklees want is pot holes filling in let alone properly.

Because those chaps in white shirts have six o levels and must be given a job,one that dont require any forward thought or outside there skills of which they have none.
