I offered to pay and he eventually agreed asking for my details so he could send me a cheque in the post. I paid for the fuel and then asked him to pay it forward. He asked what I wanted him to do and I said that he should just help someone else when they really need it. He said he would help someone to at least the same value, I said the financial value is irrelevant, just solve their problem.
Where are you filling up next phil?

Good to hear that there are good people out there but, to balance things out, this is my experience.

On All Inclusive holiday in Cuba we met a couple and occasionally had drinks with them. Then they had a big domestic and she threw him out.
He had enough cash to get another room, but nothing over. Credit / debit cards were not accepted in Cuba at that time. So I lend him a couple of hundred quid and we exchanged addresses.

When we got home nothing...The address he gave me didn't exist!
I managed to get him on the phone but he just told me to p155 off and then changed his number.

So if any of you meet JOHN GREEN of Sheffield don't lend him anything, but of course that may not be his real name.

Since this happened I've become a lot less generous and a lot more skeptical. I hate myself for it!

I am delighted to see this display of magnanimous generosity breaking out.

Obviously none of you are the miserable git who lives in the large detached house along Grand Ave, Southbourne who claimed "he had nothing to spare"
when I knocked on his door with the collecting box for the local homeless last Christmas.

He also threatened to ring the police if he was bothered again by scroungers.

I am sure that the fact he spoke with a northern accent was purely coincidental.

The best thing about motorhoming? It's harder for relatives to visit a moving target.
