    Plastic-free supermarkets

CLICK HERE TO REMOVE THESE ADVERTS
Ive just signed a Greenpeace petition calling on UK supermarkets to go plastic-free, and it would be great if youd add your name too.

From turtles entangled in six pack rings to whales with stomachs full of plastic bags, the effects of plastic pollution can be devastating.

UK supermarket Iceland has announced its own-brand packaging is going plastic-free.

By ditching plastic packaging, supermarkets have the power to lead the way in dramatically reducing the amount of single-use plastic produced.

Please join me in calling on UK supermarkets to ditch throwaway plastic packaging.

Sign the petition >> secure.greenpeace.org.uk | plastic-free-supermarkets and watch the Oceans of the Future video - YouTube

    Thanks

Trouble with plastic free is the alternative wrapping paper bags which split between trolley an car boot. Instead of banning plastic wrapping we need to educate people to dispose of plastic responably and use compostable plastic

All I ever wanted was to pick apart the day and piece it back together my way.

I will never support anything to do with Greenpeace as they are neither green or peaceful. Another bunch that's in it for the money. Try doing a simple search about what's bad about them.

we can use compostable plastic and we can use cloth shopping bags till the cows come home... until local authorities invest in plant which can and does recycle plastic (instead of it being shipped to africa and the far east) the oceans creatures will still suffer from plastic and die from plastic

Micro plastics are now found inside plankton. They may be benign, maybe not, we don't know yet, but if they begin to affect algae then we are really stuffed, as they provide most of our atmospheric oxygen.

You can buy reusable bags that crush up to the size of a tennis ball, weigh next to nothing, cost next to nothing, hold plenty and very strong. Guys, stick a couple in your pocket and become a stealth bag carrier. Most supermarkets sell them for a 1-2. No need for plastic carrier bags these days.
The best thing about motorhoming? It's harder for relatives to visit a moving target.

It is not just the carrier bags, nearly everything is already wrapped and packaged in plastic in supermarkets these days. We recycle and reuse everything we can, our rubbish is a mess of plastic trays unuseable plastic bags, plastic film...
Our recycled plastic has nowhere moral to go, China refused to take it. We pay with our taxes to inadequately deal with it. The manufacturers should pay the full costs then it would be in their interest to sort it.
