Time on my hands so I decided to look into getting a moon shot .
Only an entry grade dslr as far as proper photographers are concerned but used my Nikon D5300 and 300mm lens on a tripod (too much time on my hands )
Used a freeware progrmme Registax and this is the result at 1am night before last.

My son often takes moon shots using a 500mm lens and I was amazed how quickly the moon moves when viewing it through the lens.
    Great photo by the way.
